Refrigerated / Insulated Containers

Overview

Refrigerated and insulated containers are special containers designed to transport cargo requiring temperature control. They are mainly used for goods where maintaining quality is critical, such as food, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals. Refrigerated containers are equipped with a cooling unit to maintain a constant temperature, whereas insulated containers use an insulated structure to mitigate the effects of outside temperatures.

Features

Refrigerated containers enable temperature management by receiving power supply to operate the cooling function.
This preserves quality even during long-distance transport of frozen foods, fresh produce, and pharmaceuticals.

Insulated containers do not have a cooling function; they use insulation materials or refrigerants to moderate temperature changes.
They are typically used for relatively short-distance transport or in environments where a power supply is difficult to secure.

As both types are specialized for preserving cargo quality, their structures are more complex than standard dry containers, and their weight is also increased.
