1973 April Established Sumisho Osaka Nonferrous Metal Sales Corporation with its capital of 30 million yen.
November Changed the company name to Sumisho Nonferrous Sales Corporation. Opened Tokyo Branch Office.
1976 May Moved its head office to Tokyo, and changed the Osaka office to Osaka Branch Office (now Kansai Branch).
1977 January Opened Nagoya Branch Office (now Chubu Branch).
1978 February Increased capital to 100 million yen.
December Opened Kyushu Sub-Branch Office (closed in March 2020).
1979 October Opened Sendai Sub-Branch Office (closed in September 2006).
1980 April Opened Niigata Sub-Branch Office (closed in June 2023).
October Opened Hiroshima Sub-Branch Office (now Hiroshima Office).
December Increased capital to 200 million yen.
1988 January Changed the company name to Sumisho Metalex Corporation.
1990 February Opened Singapore Branch Office (closed in March 1999)
September Opened Hokkaido Sub-Branch Office (closed in March 2018)
December Increased capital to 600 million yen.
1992 July Opened Kanto Distribution Center (closed in October, 2006)
October Moved the head office to Kanda Ogawamachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo
1998 March Increased capital to 829.8 million yen by allocatiing new shares to third parties.
2000 February Offered company's equity publicly on OTC market, and increased capital to 1,169.8 million yen.
2002 April Established a wholly-owned subsidiary, Sumisho Metalx (Shanghai)., Ltd., in China (In April 2006, this company was closed and its businesses were transferred to Sumitomo Corporation (Shangahai) Ltd. and Sumitomo Corporation (Guanzhou) Ltd.)
August Moved Head Office to Kanda Surugadai, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo
2004 June Obtained ISO14001 Certification (Environmental managemnt system)
2005 March Became a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Sumitomo Corporation (delisted from the JASDAQ Stock Exchange on February 23, 2005)

2017 September Moved Head Office to KANDA SQUARE FRONT Bldg., Kandanishikicho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo
